Howdy Southwest! My name is Layla Nguyen, and I am honored to say that I am the 2021-2022 Southwest District Governor. This year, some of my goals are to target the decrease in membership, and work on creating more opportunities for bonding and service in the Southwest District. What I mean by that is, I hope to create a stronger committee targeting member loss, membership growth, and creating resources for you guys. With Covid-19, it affected the bond between the Southwest District and Key Club members. So I hope to work with my board to hold more events for you guys, and partner more with CKI and Kiwanis. I have many upcoming goals for this year, and if you have any questions or comments make sure you reach out! Aside from Key Club, I enjoy watching movies, hanging out with friends, baking, and cooking! I love having multiple hobbies, because I can get distracted easily. Anyways, I hope to get to know you throughout the year, and I am ecstatic to work with and see what the 2021-2022 district board can accomplish! Stay spicy everyone.

Shadyn Russo
Hello, Southwest! My name is Shadyn Russo and I have the privilege of serving as your 2021-2022 District Bulletin Editor. This year, I will be a Junior at Skyline High School in Arizona making this my fifth year as a part of the Kiwanis family. Last year, I had the honor of serving as the Superstition Lieutenant Governor. With that position, I learned many life skills that I will carry with me today. It was from that position that I decided I wanted to continue my journey with Key Club and become District Bulletin Editor. With my role as Bulletin Editor, my goals include making another way of communication by utilizing the tools and features of Discord, making my Key to the Southwest Publications informational and inclusive, and make our District Instagram more interactive with everyone in the district. Outside of Key Club, I am in Varsity Soccer, Softball, and Badminton. I am so excited to serve and see what this year it brings. As always, Stay Spicy, Southwest!
Maya Calugaru
Howdy Southwest! My name is Maya Calugaru, and I am so excited to have the privilege to serve you all as the 2021-2022 Southwest District Secretary-Treasurer. I am currently a Sophomore at Paradise Honors High School. Aside from Key Club, I am in the Student Council, Marching and Concert Band, and I am a Varsity Swimmer! This past year, I served as the Mogollon Rim Lieutenant Governor, and I fell in love with the work I got to do for everyone in my division, and I knew that I wanted to further that by being your District Secretary-Treasurer. This year, I plan to improve and refine our methods of handling and storing our district information and figure out a way to give financial support to our clubs! I look forward to getting to know you and your clubs a lot better, so if you need anything at all, please feel free to reach out to me. Stay spicy Southwest!

Cody Cragun
Hey there, Southwest! My name is Cody Cragun and I'm excited to say that I'll be serving as the 2021-2022 DCON Chair. This year, I'll be a senior at Rio Rancho High School, but I originally moved here from Daegu, South Korea in 7th grade where I went to school on a military base. Aside from Key Club, I'm also part of our JROTC's Unarmed Drill Team and I'm president of our NHS. Other than that, I write, read pretentious Russian literature, watch bad TV shows, listen to Elliott Smith, and play the piano. I've played for almost 10 years now, so I love to compose and compete whenever I can. As DCON Chair, my goal is to get as many people as possible to attend and make sure that this year's events will be informative, interactive, and, most of all, fun for everyone! I'm looking forward to meeting and working with so many new people during this term. I can't wait to see what this year has to offer, and I know that it'll be a ton of fun, so, as always, stay spicy Southwest!

Hey, Southwest District! My name is Serena Helewicz and it is going to be so amazing to be the Lieutenant Governor for the Copper/ Caverns division this 2021-2022 school year! So a little bit about me: I am attending Rio Rancho High School as a Senior this year. Go Rams! I've been a part of Key Club for four years now but I am also involved in other clubs such as NHS, of which I am the Vice President at my school, and the Synchronized Figure Skating team at my local rink, where I even help coach the younger teams. Figure skating is my passion but academics is my home, I love challenging myself academically through AP, dual enrollment, and tutoring other students. If you can't find me on the ice, exercising, or socializing, I am definitely hitting the books! Ultimately this year, I want this division to get to know each other a little more, especially since we are the combination of two previous divisions, making this the division with the most schools for this year. I want all of us to communicate better and do more group events and activities. I would also like some of our inactive schools to try to become active again. I know all of us are struggling in the midst of a pandemic but it is my belief that our passion for Key Club can overcome these troubles! I cannot wait to get to know each and every one of you, please feel free to contact me for anything you need to help your club prosper! Now stay spicy, Southwest, and let us have an amazing year together!

Nathan Wooley
Hey, Southwest! My name is Nathan Wooley, and I am super excited to be your 2021-2022 Catalina Division Lieutenant governor! I am a proud Saber cat at Sabino High School and will be a senior next year. This year will be my 4th year in Key Club and probably my 8th year involved in volunteering! When I am not in Key Club, I love running, biking, and I am a part of Sabino 's cross country in soccer teams. I am also the president of NHS, and I love math, so I participate American mathematics competition at my school each year. My goal for this upcoming year is to host quite a few division wide events so we can unite all of our schools in one or more service projects! This year, I would also like to get at least one more school chartered in our division and start a division wide log which tracks all of our service hours so at the end of the year, we can see how many hours of service we have accomplished as a division. I am looking forward to having a ton of fun this year and cannot wait to see all that our small, but strong division can accomplish! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Stay Spicy, Southwest!

Hello everyone, my name is Erica Lin and I am the Estrella Division Lt. Governor. I am currently a junior attending Liberty High School. I’m involved in clubs such as NHS, FBLA, DECA, and of course, Key Club. Some fun facts about me: I’m the oldest child, my favorite color is red, and I really want a dog. As for goals during my term, I want the clubs of the Estrella division to develop friendships with each other. I hope that with my monthly get-togethers, I can encourage inactive Key Clubs to become active again. Most importantly, I want to be of help to our fellow Key Club members. Now for my message to you, “Don’t be afraid to ask for help or to interact with other Key Clubs… our bonds are what drives us to achieve great things!" I look forward to our next Key Club adventure!

Hey Southwest! My name is Carson Frear and I am honored to be the Lieutenant Governor of the Rio Grande Division this year! I am currently a rising senior at North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, and while I am sad that my high school journey is almost over, I am also so happy that I can spend it in service of my fellow Key Clubbers. Over the next ten months, I hope to spend some time over in El Paso in person, help each club create and achieve its own goals, and give each and every member in my district an incredible experience with Key Club that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. It is the least I can do to repay some of the wonderful times that I have had with the Club. Being a part of my school Key Club for two years has truly given me some of the most memorable events, friendships, and service that I could have ever asked for. Apart from Key Club, I do parkour and freerunning, practice sword fighting, study science, history, and literature, and spend time with all the amazing people in my life. I am so excited to make some memories with you all this year, and I know it will be unforgettable! Stay spicy, Southwest!
